Here is a method that should work well for finding aticles that relate to another article.
In this case there is an article on reserve:
Scannella, J. B., & Horner, J. R. (2010). Torosaurus Marsh, 1891, is Triceratops Marsh, 1889 (Ceratopsidae: Chasmosaurinae): synonymy through ontogeny. Journal Of Vertebrate Paleontology, 30(4), 1157-1168. doi:10.1080/02724634.2010.483632
The assignment is to find an article that cites or reviews this article. After experimenting, the easiest way I found to do so was to do the following:
- Go to EBSCO Academic Search Premier
- Search for "Torosaursu Marsh 1891"
- Click on the title of this article
- Click the button "Find Similar Results"
- The first article listed in the article itself, the second one listed includes that article in its works cited.
.
Another method for finding an article that cites an article you know the title of is to search Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.com). Here are the steps:
ReplyDelete1. Go to Google Scholar.
2. Put your title in the search box with quotation marks around it.
3. If it's found, click on the "Cited by..." link below the brief description of the article.
4. Randi has linked Google Scholar to our holdings, so look to the right of each result for an option to "Check for Full Text." (There were many for the "Torosaurus Marsh" article.)
5. The "Check for Full Text" link doesn't appear 100% of the time. Sometimes when it doesn't appear, it's because the full text of the article is right there in Google Scholar. Other times, you'll need to check our holdings manually via the "Journal and Newspaper Titles" search, and submit an ILL if needed.
